Festival of Moon worship:
Celebrated on the fourth day of the waxing moon in the month of bhadon is considered sacred to the moon and celebrated as CHAUK CHANDA. It is considered very unlucky to look at the moon on this day, whosoever does it will make his name infamous.
This was the day that Krishna was wrongly accused of stealing and disgraced. Also, it is a day that one worships or pays homage to the moon , which according to ancient folklore is considered the abode of the pitras or dead relatives.
