In an interview with you the Delhi university VC has said that he's creating an open system for people to study but surprisingly while hiring teachers they require strict educational qualifications so how would this two timing help students? If one graduates from the 4 year degree and wants to go into academics then he would not be deemed fit by the current standards and will remain unemployed.
To illustrate: Biology is a vast discipline and has diversified into say Biotechnology, Microbiology in addition to traditional Zoology and Botany but if one wishes to apply for a teaching post in Delhi University say in Department of Zoology he has to be Bachelors in Zoology, Masters in Zoology to be able to apply and if one is masters in say biotechnology an allied subject he is not allowed to apply. See the red tapeism and to top it all the present system where would the student with a major in Zoology and minor in commerce land?? Any answers Mr. VC????
